Dear eFOI user,
Mabuhay!
Thank you for utilizing the eFOI portal (www.foi.gov.ph) and exercising your right to information under Executive Order No. 2, s. 2016 on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
Your Request
You asked for "Guidelines or Criteria for Recreational Aviation."
Response to Request
Please be advised that there are no established or identified areas specifically designated for aeronautical recreational activities within the Philippine Airspace (Flight Information Region).
However, individuals or companies proposing to conduct aerial activities within the Philippine Airspace, such as hot air ballooning, paragliding, ultralight aircraft flying, or fireworks displays, are required to submit a request to the Director General of CAAP for airspace clearance. Requests should be submitted at least seven (7) working days prior to the activity. It is encouraged to submit requests more than seven (7) days in advance to facilitate processing before the proposed date.
Letter requests must include the following information:
* Type of aerial activity
* Area of the activity (expressed in WGS84 coordinates)
* Duration (inclusive time and date)
* Approximate upper/lower limit in feet above mean sea level
The information provided will serve as the basis for assessment to determine if the proposed activities will be approved or disapproved, subject to air traffic and airspace restrictions.
Furthermore, guidelines and regulations pertaining to airsports and list of allowed air-based activities, please refer to P-CAR (Philippine Civil Air Regulation) Part 11, for your reference.
