Dear eFOI user,
Thank you for your request dated April 13, 2024, made under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
You have requested the Number of Staff for Mental Health Program.
I am pleased to inform you that your FOI request has been approved.
Sharing with you the draft terminal report of the NSMHW (kindly check the attached files below), which is a household survey that was commissioned by DOH to provide information on the state of mental health in the country while we improve our hospital data. As for the total number of health professionals (staff, doctors, nurses) in Rizal Province, we don't have access to real-time data on the exact number of staff, doctors, or nurses dedicated specifically to the Mental Health Program of the Center for Health Development in Calabarzon. The staffing levels and allocation of healthcare professionals for mental health services may vary over time and depend on factors such as budgetary constraints, program priorities, and population needs. However, you may directly contact Calabarzon CHD (cc'd in this email) on accurate and up-to-date staffing levels, healthcare professionals involved, and the delivery of mental health services under the provincial Mental Health Program. Overall, there are approximately 1600 psychologists and 500 psychiatrists in the country, serving about 110 million Filipinos (attached is the Lancet article).
The provincial health office of Rizal(https://www.rizalprovince.ph/pages/health.html)
may have details on the staffing and operations of mental health services within the province, including the number of staff, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the Mental Health Program.
They may also provide information on the number of MH facilities under the Rizal Provincial Hospital System (RPHS) which is a network of government-run hospitals and healthcare facilities under the jurisdiction of the provincial government.
Thank you
