Dear eFOI user,
Thank you for your request dated Sept. 11, 2025, made under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
You have requested the Standard pH level, Turbidity, and TDS for safe water consumption.
I am pleased to inform you that your FOI request has been approved. The Food and Drug Administration, specifically the Center for Food Regulation and Research, only covers the standard pH level, Turbidity, and Total dissolved solids(TDS) for bottled water under DOH Administrative Order (AO) no. 18-A s. 1993 "Standards of Quality and Requirements for the Processing, Packaging, and labeling of Bottled Water". (See attached) Generally, they can check the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (AO 2017-0010) but just to emphasize that FDA is focus on bottled water. For the classification of water safety per pH (low risk, medium risk, high risk), you can ask the LGU in their location.
