This is in reference to your request for information received via eFOI Portal 22 August 2025 with tracking no. #DSWD-979422939397. Upon initial review we have determined that some of the information you are seeking is already available online Please see our response to your request, which pertains to the following data:

- Location of high number of abandoned children/orphans
- Statistics/demographics for abandoned elderly in Region IV-A CALABARZON and Metro Manila
- Statistics/demographics for abandoned children/orphans in Region IV-A CALABARZON and Metro Manila
Response:
The DSWD has limited information on the number of abandoned elderly and children staying in residential care facilities run by the Department.
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) may have the data you require. Under Republic Act No. 10625 (the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013), the PSA is the government agency responsible for preparing and conducting periodic censuses on population, housing, agriculture, fisheries, business, industry, and other sectors of the economy. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the PSA through this portal.
Should you wish to continue requesting information on the number of clients served in DSWD-run facilities catering to older persons and children, kindly submit a revised request specifically stating the same and indicating the reference period (e.g., 2024–2025).
Relative to this, we shall partially grant your request on items nos. 5 and 6.
Should you have any questions regarding this request, kindly contact me using the reply function on the eFOI portal at ticket number #DSWD-979422939397.
