Dear Land Transportation Office, I am Sheldon Arthur Sagrado, a 4th-year Bachelor of Science in Computer Science student from the University of the Philippines Cebu, currently conducting my undergraduate thesis entitled “AI-Driven Traffic Violation Detection Using Computer Vision in the Philippines.” I am respectfully requesting access to anonymized traffic-related data that may support my research. Specifically, I am seeking any of the following, if available: - Sample or anonymized CCTV footage or still images from public roads or intersections; - Traffic violation datasets or statistics, such as records of helmet, lane, or speed violations; - Technical documentation or reports related to existing AI-based or camera-assisted enforcement systems (e.g., No-Contact Apprehension Program, smart road monitoring systems, or pilot programs under LTO/DOTr). - The data will be used solely for academic and non-commercial research, and all materials will be handled responsibly and securely. Personally identifiable information will be removed or blurred in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173). The study’s goal is to assess how artificial intelligence and computer vision can be locally applied to enhance traffic enforcement and road safety; particularly for Cebu’s developing urban transport systems. I would deeply appreciate your assistance or guidance in identifying available datasets or resources, or in being referred to the appropriate department or project office that handles such data.
