Dear eFOI user,
Thank you for your request dated Sept. 4, 2025, made under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
You have requested the number of FOI Users from 2016 to the present.
I am pleased to inform you that your FOI request has been approved. Enclosed herewith, you will find a copy of the information you have requested. Please note that it may include [some, most, or all] of the data you require.
Please see our response below:
- The Issuance of the International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is being processed by the National Library of the Philippines (NLP). However, one of their requirements is the NBDB certificate of registration as an Author/Writer (for individual) or as a Book Publisher (for enterprise).
To know more about the NBDB Registration, please visit this link: https://books.gov.ph/nbdb-online-registration/
- Self-published authors register with the NBDB under the Author/Writer category. We do not have a category of “self-publisher.”
- The NBDB does not register books. We register individuals (authors/writers, editors, illustrators, designers, etc.) and enterprises (book publishers, importers, sellers, etc.)
