January 11, 2023 Dear Ms. Tolentino: Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Jan 10, 2023 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked for Request for issuance of circular or clarification on Sim Registration. Response to your request While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office would like to inform you that you revisit Republic Act 11934 otherwise known as SIM Card Registration Act and its Implementing Rules and Regulations(IRR). Further, it is explicitly stated in the IRR that for minors (registration will be under the name of the minor’s parent or guardian. ALL are required): • Any ID mentioned above • Consent of the minor’s parent or guardian to register the SIM. However, If you are in your legal age, you are already eligible to register that SIM in your name by submitting the needed requirement to register that SIM.. For more information and appropriate guidance please visit the concerned TELCO for that issue.
