Greetings! We are asking for an update on Employees Compensation Commission's Cash assistance program for COVID patients since their website says it is under maintenance for a month. My application was submitted October 25, 2021 and it was approved but it has been more than a year already and I haven't received any assistance yet. I got positive with COVID twice and I need to undergo spine surgery since I was seriously infected of the virus. I also joined ECC's online conference and they informed us that they will release the cash assistance before this year ends.

    -The Employees' Compensation Program (ECP) aims to provide disability or death benefits due to work-connected sickness or injury; 

    -ECP covers all civilian employees in the government with GSIS coverage including uniformed personnel and all compulsory members of the SSS;

    -SSS serves as implementing agency of ECP in the private sector whereas GSIS implements the ECP in the public sector; the Employees' Compensation Commission (ECC) serves as appeal and policy-making body of the ECP; as implementing agency in the private sector, the evaluation of EC claims resides in the SSS; 

    -EC benefits are distinct and separate from SSS and GSIS benefits; 

    -EC cash assistance serves as accessory benefits to EC disability or death benefits due to work-connected covid19;
