Response to your request

The proposed legislation increasing the maternity leave period to 120 days for female workers in the government service and the private sector is pending in the Bicameral Conference Committee to harmonize the disagreeing provisions of the bills passed in the House of Representatives (House Bill No. 4113, approved on Third Reading on September 10, 2018) and the Senate (Senate Bill No. 1305, approved on Third Reading on March 6, 2017).

While the PLLO monitors the progress of legislative measures in Congress (particularly those included in the President’s Legislative Agenda), we are not the official source of information on these matters. Therefore, for more accurate status of legislative measures, may we refer you the https://www.congress.gov.ph/press/details.php?pressid=10958.

Also, may we seek for you indulgence and understanding for our inability to reply to your query immediately and within the prescribed period. Please be informed that the PLLO designated receivers were not able to access the e-FOI portal due to technical and administrative problems in the past year of implementation of the said portal. It was only this month, through the assistance of the PCOO that the PLLO was able to address these difficulties and hence access the portal.

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to PLLO Secretary Adelino B. Sitoy and mail at 2nd Floor, New Executive Building, Malacañang or email at osec.pllo.gov.ph. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).

Thank you.
