Dear Kasmir Ivan Derecho,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Sep 05, 2022 03:18:19 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for Status of Robotics Education in Philippines.
Our response:
1. Your Query: Statistics for every Science High School in the Philippines that has a Robotics Curriculum. Answer: We do not keep data on this. The PSHS system does not exercise control or supervision of "every Science High School in the Philippines." There are only 16 PSHS Campuses in as many regions in the Philippines. All other public Science High Schools in the country is under the supervision DepED. PSHS does not have a "robotic curriculum" per se.
2. Query: List of Subjects/Courses for Robotics in Philippine Science High School. Answer: Robotics is an integrated "subject" or "discipline" and not a "stand-alone subject." Having said that, PSHS does not have robotics subjects. PSHS has clubs on robotics under the Alternative Learning Activities (ALA). Also under the mentorship of our Computer Science teachers, our scholars join robotic competitions.
3. Query: Number of Filipino Inventors/Scientist under RA 11035 "Balik Scientist Act." Answer: The DOST implements the "Balik Scientist Program." Thus, we do not keep data on the number of balik scientist beneficiaries. Kindly visit DOST's website for this.
4. Query: Possible Site or Lot Area for the proposed Project. Answer: Your query is not clear. Do you mean, which PSHS Campus is interested in Robotics Projects? Answer: All PSHS Campuses are interested in Robotics Projects and Competitions. Should you need to contact them, you may access their contact details at our website.
5. Query: Possible proponent(s) and Private Companies that are willing to Fund the Project (For theoretical purpose only ex. Softbank Robotics). Answer: Your query is not clear. Are you asking who are the project proponents of Robotic Projects in PSHS? Our participation in Robotics Competition and Activities are mainly funded by PSHS.
6. Query: Medal Tally. Answer: Please see attached file (for the last 3 years, CY 2019-2021) medal tally.

We hope you find everything in order.
