This pertains to your email dated 30 May 2021 requesting for information on the Bamboo Flattening Machine. The same was forwarded on 04 June 2021 to the Freedom of Information (FOI) of DOST-TAPI for appropriate action.

Upon checking, the said machine was developed by the Forest Products Research and Development Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-FPRDI) and was designed to produce flattened bamboo for furniture, handicraft, and construction industries. The flattened bamboo can be a substitute for manually-made crushed bamboo and can be made into furniture and flooring products for export.
