Dear Eunice Dianne Algar,
Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated Oct 26, 2021 07:44:13 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
Your Request
You asked for Number of reported cases on Violence Against Women per region.
Response to Request
We have already responded to the request you have sent through this portal on November 16, 2021 seeking for the similar information, as reflected here: https://tinyurl.com/y5w7mckx
For easy reference, we have indicated the following in the said response:
"Kindly see attached available PNP VAW Data under R.A. 9262 covering the year 2016 up to 2021 (by Region) as attached.
In the Philippines, Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004 penalizes domestic violence against women and their children. The law covers physical, psychological, sexual, and economic abuses committed by intimate partners.
As of now, PNP is the only source of data on national incidence of violence against women having a well established reporting system through their Crime Information Reporting and Analysis System (CIRAS). This electronic system is fully operational in all police stations and community precincts in the country.
Please ensure proper citation and you may also email the PNP Women and Children Protection Center at [email protected] and [email protected] for further assistance on data and analysis concerns.
As an additional data source, please also check the webpage of the Philippine Statistics Authority where the Annual Statistical Fact Sheets on Women and Men in the Philippines, which among others, contain VAW data, has been proactively disclosed: https://psa.gov.ph/gender-stat/wmf."
We also attached the same files in this response, for your perusal.
