Report on IBON Foundation

Requested from NSC by S. Africa at 04:04 PM on Oct 01, 2020.
Purpose: To reply to unfounded accusations against IBON Foundation.
Date of Coverage: 01/01/2020 - 09/30/2020
Tracking no: #NSC-854832236917

Africa 04:04 PM, Oct 01, 2020

The news article ‘NPA atrocities cases set to be filed with UN body’ written by Christina Mendez of The Philippine Star and which was published on its website on February 24, 2019 mentioned an NSC complaint reportedly handed to Ambassador Evan Garcia, the Philippines’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) in Geneva. It supposedly mentions IBON Foundation as a “front organization” of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).

Sorry, “346 days 7 hours 55 minutes 41 seconds ago” is what foi.gov.ph’s “time la-sed” counts — but looking at a calendar shows that it’s been 486 days since Oct 1, 2020 when the request was made.

Thank you for your request for clarification which comes 502 calendar days after the request was made. Please allow me to copy-and-paste from the text of Oct 1, 2020 which should be enough information for the NSC to work further on the request:

"Report on IBON Foundation -- Requested from NSC by S. Africa at 04:04 PM on Oct 01, 2020.

"Purpose: To reply to unfounded accusations against IBON Foundation."

And to help the NSC identify what report is being referred to:

"The news article ‘NPA atrocities cases set to be filed with UN body’ written by Christina Mendez of The Philippine Star and which was published on its website on February 24, 2019 mentioned an NSC complaint reportedly handed to Ambassador Evan Garcia, the Philippines’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) in Geneva. It supposedly mentions IBON Foundation as a “front organization” of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF)."
