Response to Request

Hi Ms. Saldi,

I hope you receive our email dated Oct. 11, 2022 containing the details below: Thank you.

Dear Ms. Saldi:

Greetings!

This is in reference to your request in the electronic Freedom of Information (eFOI) portal last October 5, 2022 for the following:
Total number of Junior and Senior High School dropouts from 2017 to 2022 in CAMANAVA Area; and
Total number of out-of-school youth from 2017 to 2022 in CAMANAVA area.
The National Youth Commission regrets to inform you that the aforementioned data are not available in NYC. We recommend for the request on the number of high school dropouts to be relayed to the Department of Education (DepEd) as the said agency holds the capacity to oversee these matters. The DepEd also has an existing local office in CAMANAVA area, which perhaps you may seek assistance for area-specific data.

Meanwhile, for the number of out-of-school youth, we suggest for this to be requested again from the DepEd, as well as the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). The PSA regularly conducts its Labor Force Survey and one of their indicators is the number of youth Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET).

The Commission has limited administrative data, however, the NYC releases an Annual Youth Statistics Update which you may access through this link (https://bit.ly/2021_YouthStat). It contains youth-related data sourced from different NYC partner agencies, such as DepEd and PSA. Should you have any questions or concerns, you may reach Ms. Joyce Ebora through email at pmed@nyc.gov.ph.

Thank you.

Respectfully,

PMED Chief Dr. Jennevie Anne Salmo
