I would like to request for studies on Urban Farming, particularly actual Projects undertaken by the Department of Agriculture or your Bureau whether directly or through LGUs or NGOs.

This is so we can avoid repeating mistakes and adopt best practices when we undertake studies or projects to help in food production within NCR.

Dear Romuald Paredes,
This refers to your inquiry about Past Studies on Urban Farming Projects particularly actual Projects undertaken by the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI). The DA-BPI is actively implementing Urban Agriculture and Gulayan sa Paaralan under the Department of Agriculture’s High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) in support with the “Plant, Plant, Plant Program” of the Department of Agriculture. These projects can be easily adopted whether individual, private or public groups, and schools specifically within the National Capital Region (NCR for implementation. You may contact the BPI-Crop Research and Production Support Division (CRPSD) at Telephone No. 8525-7313 or 8524-0837 for more details.

In addition, the Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) is also one of the active implementing agencies conducting Urban Agriculture. You may reach them also for further information about the Urban Farming Project-related. The Local Government Units (LGUs) as such can also adopt the project for implementation in their respective areas with the provision of the above-mentioned Bureaus and Agencies and/or of the Department of Agriculture.

Thank you very much.
