Hi, I would like to get the statistics on the number and type of disabilities claims by Filipino mariners from 2011-2016 working in Africa.

For example : 2011 - 2 cases of back injuries, 3 cases of chronic fatigue, etc.

I would really be grateful if I can have this data. I needed this for my research. Thank you so much.

Your Request

You asked for Number and type of disabilities claims by Filipino Mariners.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. I enclose a copy of  all of the information you requested.

Please note that we are only able to provide some of the information you have requested for as due to the available data information in the database of the Social Benefits Unit who handle the disability claims is limited and is not itemized by country of destination, type of OFWs and type of claims. we can only provide you the available data that our IT expert sort by the total number of claims such as accident, natural, total and partial disability only. it covers the year 2010 to 2018.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Hans Leo J. Cacdac, OWWA Administrator and e-mail admin.cacdac@owwa.goiv.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. You can also request to Phil health in regards to the disability claims of OFWs.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
