Dear OWWA Officers,

I am here in Alberta Canada and recently I got a job here and already started to work.

I wish to register my self in OWWA to become a registered OFW here in Canada, I also contacted OWWA Vancouver and advice me if I can process it in the Philippine with the help of my wife, unfortunately my wife has also a job during weekdays.

I am hoping to register my self through online and get someone to assist me from your office because this OWWA membership is very important for the Filipino like me who is working outside in the Philippines.

Dear Jayson Ignacio,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Jun 01, 2023 02:34:32 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch for voluntary OWWA Membership.

Mr. Ignacio you can register for OWWA Membership through the voluntary membership program at the Philippine Consulate General, Vancouver, Canada.  

As per requirement on Voluntary OWWA Membership, you must present an Employment Contract and valid Philippine Government issued ID (e.g. passport).  This is a face-to-face transaction and cannot be delegated. 

For details on OWWA Membership visit the website:owwa.gov.ph.  It is at the bottom page of the frequently asked question.

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing the OWWA- FOI Decision Makers at email: foi_dm@owwa.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within FIFTEEN (15) calendar days from the date you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within THIRTY (30) calendar days from the date we received your review request.

However, if you are still not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
