Good day, I would like to ask if the OFW can claim the cash assistance amounting 600.00(not sure the amount) when going back to the Philippines for vacation? I took a vacation last May 6, 2023 - June 01, 2023. I don't know where we can claim the cash assistance. Hoping I can receive a mesaage regarding with my concern. Thank you.

Dear Ms. Clariza Martinez,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Jun 03, 2023 04:58:51 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch for OFW COVID 19 Cash Assistance.

Ms. Martinez please be informed that OWWA has no Cash Assistance worth 600.00. Neither does OWWA have a financial assistance for Vacationing Worker from Taiwan.  Records show that you were deployed to Taiwan in 1 June 2023 to a new employer.  Hence, you finished your previous employment contract and was not vacationing but rather waiting for the POEA approval for a new employer.

We suggest you open the website of OWWA: owwa.gov.ph and familiarize yourself with the available program of benefits for the OWWA Active Member.  

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing the OWWA- FOI Decision Makers at email: foi_dm@owwa.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within FIFTEEN (15) calendar days from the date you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within THIRTY (30) calendar days from the date we received your review request.

However, if you are still not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
