Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated May 18, 2023 06:48:06 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch for information on total number of OFW(s) in Quezon City.

Ms. Altaras be properly informed that the data you need is available at the Quezon City Planning Office.  All local government units (LGU) update their population household data including those with family members who are  OFWs.  Population data is a requirement for the budget preparation and granting of programs and benefits for the constituents of the LGU.

In addition, be correctly informed that the OWWA one of the several government agencies under the executive branch that assist OFWs and their families.  OWWA is mandated by law (R.A. 10801 or the OWWA Act of 2016) to provide welfare assistance services to all Filipino overseas but only extend  OWWA Program financial assistance and benefits to its OWWA Member-OFWs. If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing the OWWA- FOI Decision Makers at email: foi_dm@owwa.gov.ph.
