Dear khristine camille adriano,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Mar 21, 2023 12:12:52 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for Hospital Helipad Requirements.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. Below is the response from the Aerodrome Registration Certification and Inspection Division (ARCID):

This is in reference to your FOI request posted on the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines Freedom of Information website dated 21 March 2023 regarding standard specifications, dimensions, drawings, and markings that must be considered in designing and operating a hospital helipad.

In the first question: “What are the levels of the hospital that requires a helipad? and what are its requirements?”

If a hospital has the intent to construct and operate an Elevated or a Surface level Helipad, it can apply for Permit to Operate to the Aerodrome and Air Navigation Safety Oversight Office (AANSOO) of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and request a schedule of the safety inspection for proper guidance in designing a helipad.

In the second question: “What are the requirements, operational guidelines, and design of a helipad in the hospital?”

You may refer to the Manual of Standards for Aerodromes Chapter 15: Heliport Standards, which is accessible and downloadable at the CAAP website. It will serve as a reference in determining the needed considerations in designing a hospital helipad.

Should you have any queries regarding this matter, you may email us at aansoo_asid@caap.gov.ph.
