I do not know if this should be a question posed to you or to the CSC but I could not find the CSC in the list of agencies so I opted for you instead.

As for my question, is it normal for a government agency to go beyond 6 months for the probationary period? I got hired by the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency and apparently, as per their organization, I was required to render 1-year long probationary period before regularization as opposed to the usual 6-month long probationary like most private and public organizations.

Thank you. By the way just to be clear, I have not started on this job yet as it is scheduled to start at around mid June this year so I doubt it is an issue regarding professional performance but something else.
