Detailed Account of the Recovered Jewelries of Imelda Marcos

Requested from PCGG by F. Fuentes at 11:10 AM on Mar 03, 2022.
Purpose: Research, Cross-checking with Media Publications
Date of Coverage: 02/01/1986 - 03/01/2022
Tracking no: #PCGG-126250530574

Fuentes 11:10 AM, Mar 03, 2022

I am interested in the following:
- Any documentation/inventory list detailing the precise number of pieces from each collection - Malacañang, Hawaii, and Roumeliotes -- and not just the gross worth.
- How they were found and obtained from 1986 onwards. (Reports, notes, anecdotes, files, etc.)
- How the Malacañang collection appeared in the palace after and during the exile. (E.g. Where were they found? Were they left in disarray? How were they saved from looting? etc.)

Cont.

Fuentes 11:10 AM, Mar 03, 2022

- Has the public ever seen them before, even for a brief period? If yes, why did it stop? If no, why are they kept private even in print or digital publications and archives for 30+ years?
- Archival footage/images of the Palace in the immediate exile of the Marcos family (i.e. the disarray and chaos of the rooms, etc.)
- Information on the tiaras (e.g. How many pieces? When and how were they purchased? Images and documents of its history)

Hello Ferdinand Fuentes -

A reply from the Surrendered Assets Group (SurAG) of the Asset Management Department of PCGG states the following:

1. We are not in a position to disclose any information regarding the Roumeliotes collections because they are under the custody of the Bureau of Customs.
2. We are bound to observe the non-disclosure clause of the Inventory/Appraisal Reports of Sotheby's and Christie's, where some of the requested information may appear. Thus, this may cause a legal issue if we unnecessarily disclose any information regarding these collections to third parties.
3. The SurAG has no historical background, any record of public display, footages, etc. of these jewelry collections.

Thank you.
