September 11, 2017 Dear Kim Danganan, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Aug 22, 2017 11:39:46 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked how the water hyacinth harvester launched by DOST helped local places and how this can help the residents in Cardona since the water hyacinths affect their livelihood fishing gravely. Response to your request While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have the information you have requested. The reason why we don’t have the information is that the water hyacinth harvester that you mentioned was a prototype that has undergone performance testing and evaluation. It is inoperative as of this time as it needs to be repaired and improved. For further assistance you may review the FAQ section of the eFOI site: https://www.foi.gov.ph/help. Your right to request a review If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to the Department Central Appeals and Review Committee, Department of Science and Technology, General Santos Avenue, Bicutan, Taguig City. The Committee will complete the review and tell you the result, within thirty (30) calendar days from the date when we receive you review request.
