Hello,

Thank you for the follow-up questions!

1. Are you requesting data on specific sites and provinces?
 - My research has nationwide coverage so data on all or any province is appreciated

2. Does your request cover a specific period?
- My study covers 2000 to 2020 so any record within this period will be helpful

3. Are you requesting for the extent of the deforestation including the coordinates and specific causes of deforestation for each site?
- If data on the extent with the corresponding cause of deforestation is available, then that would be more helpful and I would like to request that.

Dear Ren Avell Anne Flores,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Apr 01, 2022 03:26:11 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request

You asked for Field Validation for Key Drivers of Deforestation.

Response to your request

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have the information you requested. As earlier communicated, the official data that we have covers only 2015 and the details contained therein are the forest cover changes from 2010 to 2015. In as much as we would like to provide you with the causes of deforestation for each site, the information requested is not available from our office. However, since the data requirement is nationwide and requires specific drivers of deforestation for each site, we suggest further coordination with field offices of the DENR, particularly through the FOI portal of each DENR region.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Jim O, Sampulna, Acting Secretary, DENR, Visayas Avenue, Diliman QC. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).

Thank you.
