The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) is an academic institution created through Batas Pambansa Bilang 12 on 15 December 1978. USeP was created with the following mandates: a.To provide programs of instruction and professional training primarily in the fields of science and technology, especially medicine, fisheries, engineering and industrial fields. b.To promote advanced studies, research and extension services and progressive leadership in science, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, engineering and industrial fields and other courses needed in the socio-economic development of Mindanao. c.To develop courses at the graduate level along the fields of specialization and to respond to the needs of development workers in their academic community. d.To provide non-formal education and undertake vigorous extension and research programs in food production, nutrition, health and sports development. e.To offer scholarship and/or part time job opportunities to deserving students from low-income families. Geared to become a premier research university in the ASEAN, USeP offers programs of instruction in the following fields: Education, Engineering, Arts and Sciences, Economics, Governance and Business, Technology, Agriculture, and Forestry. To propel socio-economic development of Mindanao, in the country, and in the ASEAN, USeP also advances with workable Research, Development and Extension agenda to work on for the next five years (2017-2021), particularly in climate change, sustainable agriculture, policy studies, socio-cultural knowledge, manufacturing and production, and emerging trends. The University has four (4) campuses spread in the Mindanao: Obrero campus (Main), Davao City; Mintal campus, Davao City; Tagum-Mabini campus with two units, one in Apokon, Tagum City and the other in Mampising, Mabini, Compostela Valley Province; and Bislig campus, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.
