Please provide me extensive and comprehensive studies on how each types of face masks’ mechanisms in prevention monkey pox virus transmission. 3. October 24, 2022 Dear Ryan Cuartero, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Oct 08, 2022 01:06:52 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your FOI request is approved. 1. Do all the face masks work effectively in the prevention of monkey pox transmission? - Monkey Pox can be transmitted from one person to another by close contact with lesions, body fluids, respiratory droplets and contaminated materials, thus, wearing of masks is one of the precautionary measures in reducing transmission. - Both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization(WHO) recommend the use of well-fitting medical masks for monkeypox patients if close contact with others cannot be avoided. Also, household members are strongly encouraged to wear a respirator or a well- fitting mask when in close contact(e.g., within 6 feet) Your right to request a review If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to the Central Appeals and Review Committee, at [email protected]. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter.
