I am pleased to inform you that your FOI request has been approved. Below are the responses from Health Facility Development Bureau on your request on the following:
1. Budget of DOH for a Hospice Care Center - As of now, there are no hospice centers owned and managed by the Department of Health (DOH). Kindly coordinate with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on this request.
2. Budget of DOH for a Geriatric Hospital - The Philippine Health Facility Development Plan (PHFDP) 2020-2040 lays out the development of priority health facilities in the country towards the realization of the provisions of the Universal Health Care Act. The development of hospitals catering to priority specialty care such as those catering to Geriatric Care is included in the plan. The 2019 estimated costs for the establishment of health facilities are provided in the PHFDP. You may access the plan through this link: http://bit.ly/PHFDP2020_2040. Moreover, based on Department Order No. 2021-0001 Designation of Selected DOH hospitals as Specialty Centers, the funding support for the construction and/or renovation and equipping of Specialty Centers such as Geriatric Care shall be provided to the concerned DOH Hospitals through the Health Facility Enhancement Program (HFEP) as aligned with the PHFDP.
