You have requested the NEUROLOGICAL SPECIALTY HOSPITAL
Below are the responses from the Health Facility Development Bureau (HFDB) on the following:
1. Minimum bed capacity for Neurological Specialty Hospital - The DOH does not warrant a standard and/or minimum number of beds for a specialty center or the Specialty Center for the Brain Center (Department Order No. 2021-0001 and its amendment). You may refer to Annex G: RSF for Brain and Spine Care Centers. The allocation of beds in a hospital is based on the actual and/or projected caseload of the facility. 2. How to determine number of beds for Specialty Hospitals - For additional information, you may refer to the Administrative Order No. 2012-0012 titled "Rules and Regulations Governing the New Classification of Hospitals and other Health Facilities in the Philippines" issued by Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau define a Specialty Hospital as a hospital that specializes in a particular disease or condition or in one type of patient. Furthermore, a specialized hospital may be devoted to the treatment of
(a) a particular type of illness or for a particular condition requiring a range of treatment;
(b) patients suffering from disease of a particular organ or groups of organs, and
(c) patients belonging to a particular group such as children, women, the elderly and others.
