Dear eFOI user,
Thank you for your request dated Oct. 1, 2024, made under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
You have requested the number of FOI Users from 2016 to the present.
We would like to refer you to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the primary government agency responsible for collecting, compiling, and disseminating demographic and statistical information in the Philippines. It has a dedicated division that focuses on business and industry statistics, including data on entrepreneurs. PSA would be able to provide you with the most current and comprehensive insights that you are seeking. You may contact their Service and Industry Census Division at [email protected].
Additionally, we would like to share with you the latest MSME Statistical data provided by PSA, which includes a regional summary at https://www.dti.gov.ph/resources/msme-statistics/.
For detailed information on the MSME List of Establishments (LE) and further disaggregation of data per Province/City/Barangay, you may contact the Service and Industry Census Division of the PSA through:
MS. NENITA P. REBARTER
Chief Statistical Specialist
Address: PSA Complex East Ave., Diliman Quezon City 1101
Email: [email protected]
May we also inform you that the Department of Trade and Industry only registers or renews business names for single proprietorship. However, registering the business name does not guarantee that the business is already operational. The business name registration and record-keeping of MSME data are handled by DTI’s Regional Offices, Provincial Offices, and Negosyo Centers. They have the responsibility to share this information, if needed under a Data Sharing Agreement.
We also recommend that you visit the local government unit (LGU) that corresponds to your area of study. The LGUs would have the complete list of businesses with license to operate since businesses, whatever the legal form (such as sole proprietorship, cooperative, partnership, or corporation) are required to secure a mayor’s permit or municipal license annually from the city or municipality where they are located.
If you require in-person assistance or have specific inquiries, you are welcome to visit the DTI-NCR Office. Their address and contact details are as follows
