Dear eFOI user,
Thank you for your request dated Jan. 22, 2025, made under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
You have requested for the testing capability of EV/RESS of DTI BPS Testing Laboratory.
I am pleased to inform you that your FOI request has been approved. Enclosed herewith, you will find a copy of the information you have requested from the DTI Bureau of Philippine Standards.
Please be informed that the subject facility is not intended for EV/RESS testing but primarily to test lithium-ion cells as well as automotive starter batteries in support of the BPS Product Certification Scheme. The facility can, however, be utilized for testing battery packs of different chemistries on a limited capacity. Currently, the Laboratory can only conduct cycling tests (charge/discharge) up to 60V and 62.5A per channel (maximum parallelable current of 500A for 8 channels). In addition, having an explosion-proof chamber size of 850 x 600 x 800 mm (W x H x D) limits the dimension of the battery packs that can be accommodated for testing. Other facilities related to battery testing like the shock test apparatus, vibration test system and battery crush test system, likewise have limitations in terms of sample size and weight. Should you find the above information relevant to your interests, we can e-mail you the documents containing each equipment’s technical specifications. If you have any additional questions, require further assistance or interested to visit our laboratory, please do not hesitate to contact us. You may coordinate directly with the BPS Product Testing Division at mobile numbers 09178223557 / 09178064605 or email at [email protected].
